Admission requirements for Bangladeshi students

Entry requirements depend on the study level and course. Health, engineering and professionally regulated programmes can ask for specific subjects. Some master’s degrees accept applicants from any discipline. Others do not.

LSBU publishes separate Bangladesh entry guidance, which makes the initial assessment easier.

Foundation entry requirements

A foundation or pathway programme may be suitable when an applicant does not meet direct bachelor’s entry requirements.

LSBU’s Bangladesh guidance lists the Bangladesh Higher Secondary Certificate below the specified direct-entry level as a possible foundation qualification. An International Baccalaureate Certificate may also be considered. Final acceptance depends on the pathway and chosen degree.

Undergraduate entry requirements

For direct undergraduate entry, LSBU currently lists the following general options for Bangladeshi students:

  • Bangladesh HSC with Grade A or CGPA 3.8 out of 5.0 or higher
  • Three GCE A Level passes, with grades depending on the course
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma with at least 24 points
  • Accepted UK foundation programme with around 55% to 60% or higher
  • Accepted UK National Diploma
  • Higher National Diploma for possible advanced or top-up entry

Some degrees require Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry or another specific subject. A strong total CGPA may not be enough when the required HSC subject is missing.

Masters entry requirements

Certain courses ask for a relevant first degree. A small number may also require professional experience. General postgraduate entry guidance for Bangladesh includes:

  • A four or five-year honours degree from a recognised Bangladeshi university
  • CGPA 2.5 out of 4.0 or higher, depending on the university and programme
  • A two-year honours degree followed by a two-year master’s degree, normally with CGPA 2.5 out of 4.0 or higher
  • An international honours degree equivalent to a UK second-class bachelor’s degree

A CGPA of 2.5 does not guarantee an offer. The admissions team can also review the institution, subject match, failed courses, study gap and overall transcript.

How to apply to London South Bank University from Bangladesh

International students can normally apply directly to LSBU. The application route can still vary by level and program. Undergraduate applicants may also use UCAS where applicable. A careful application usually follows these steps:

  1. Review your academic profile: Check SSC, HSC, bachelor’s results, English level, study gap and subject background. This helps remove courses for which you are clearly not eligible.

  5. Submit the application: Complete the form carefully. Employment dates, academic dates and course information should match the supporting documents.
  6. Receive the decision: LSBU may issue a conditional or unconditional offer. A conditional offer means one or more requirements are still outstanding.
  7. Meet the offer conditions: Submit the final certificate, English result, reference or other requested document. Read every condition. Do not assume payment alone will clear the offer.
  8. Pay the required deposit: LSBU generally requires new international students to pay a deposit equal to 50% of their tuition fees before a CAS is issued, although some exceptions may apply.

LSBU tuition fees for international students

The fee depends on the course and route. Internship, placement, laboratory and specialist programmes may cost more. Fees can increase in later academic years. Field trips, equipment, professional checks and placement-related costs may also sit outside the main tuition fee.

The Biomedical Science course lists £17,400 for 2026/27. International Business Management and several standard business master’s routes list £18,900. Project Management with Internship is listed at £20,160. Fees vary, so these figures should be used as examples rather than one fixed LSBU price.

LSBU scholarships for Bangladeshi students

LSBU has committed more than £1 million to its international scholarship scheme. Bangladeshi students may be considered for general international awards when they meet the conditions. Below are some of the best UK scholarships for Bangladeshi students available at LSBU.

Vice-Chancellor’s International Merit Award

This award is for eligible undergraduate students with strong school results. It provides a £2,000 tuition discount for each academic year. LSBU states that applicants normally need grades equivalent to AAB at UK A Level, roughly comparable to 75% or above in other recognised school-leaving qualifications. Other conditions apply.

Global Success Scholarship

The Global Success Scholarship provides awards of up to £4,000. It is available across selected undergraduate and postgraduate subjects and normally applies to the first year. Applicants need to accept the offer and pay the required early deposit within the stated deadline. The final award can vary by subject.

Pathway and partner awards

A £5,000 first-year award may be available to students progressing from an eligible LSBU pathway delivered through Cambridge Education Group. Other partner-based awards have separate eligibility rules.

These are not open to every applicant. A student applying directly from a Bangladeshi institution should not assume they qualify.

A scholarship reduces part of the cost. It does not remove the need to prepare the remaining tuition and visa funds.
