Nanchang University known as NCU, a national key university, is located in Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi province, China. The origin of NCU can be traced back to Jiangxi Public Medical School founded in 1921, National Chung- Cheng Medical College founded in 1937, National Chung- Cheng University founded in 1940, Jiangxi University founded in 1958, and Jianxi Polytechnic College founded in 1958.
The most remarkable amalgamation was Jiangxi University and Jianxi Polytechnic University mingled and renamed Nanchan University in 1993.
At present, only the main campus of the university has enrolled 34,759 undergraduates, 14,980 postgraduates, and 1,492 foreign students. Since the foundation, the institution has contributed to local, national, and international education and economy.
